Does anybody have any experiance or any knowledge on taking a 400 BB crank and putting it in a Wolverine? I know you could change the piston and rod with it and just make it a 400. I'm curious if you could just change the rod and use the higher compression 350 piston. My obvious worry is that it would be too long of a stroke to use with the 350's piston and would smack the valves, but I just don't know. I guess to know we need to know the rod length in both motors and the pin location in the piston. I do know the bores are the same and the 400 is a 7mm longer stroke.

I thought only the jug on the Big Bear was different...and that gave it the slightly larger displacement?

Not the case. If you look into the bore and stroke of both of them in the Wiseco catalog they both have the same cc bore. They don't use the same piston though because the Wolverine is 10.25:1 or 10.5:1 compression ratio were the BB is 8.6:1.

Interesting!
