i tried to ride my 2003 wolverine on saturday. when i first started it, i had to choke it which isnt unusual. after running for a few mins with the choke on it backfired and died. would not start again. i pulled the cover off the aitbox and found gas coming out of the air intake hose, alot of it. i think i need to rebuild the carb but wanted to check on here to see if anyone else has had the same problem. thanks for your time

I had a problem with my 05 350. I hadn't run it in a while and it would not start and began to smell gas. The airbox had about 2 cups of gas in it. I loosened the carburetor clamps and rotated the carburetor sideways and removed the fuel bowl. I think the needle & seat valve was stuck open. I fixed that. On mine I think the carburetor needs to be taken apart and cleaned. The engine runs rough till it warms up.
Yeah I would say your needle and seat stuck open. That is a sign that it is definantly time to clean the carb. There are no carb kits available for the 97 and up wolverine carbs except the one offered by K&L. All that it comes with is a needle and seat, bowl gasket, and new bowl screws. Its should be all you need anyways though. While your in there I would highly reccomend a can of carb cleaner and thouroughly blow out all the jets and passages throughout the carb.

I AGREE, A GOOD CLEANING WOULD GO A LONG WAY.
